Bontrio accepts no bets and sets no odds. Bets are placed exclusively on the external operator's site. This page explains concepts; it offers no predictions.
How odds work
Odds express what a winning bet pays and, at the same time, reflect the probability estimated by the operator. In decimal format, multiplying the stake by the odds gives the total return, which includes the stake itself.
Odds of 2.00 correspond to an implied probability of roughly 50%. The calculation is simple: 1 divided by the odds. If you add up the implied probabilities of every outcome in an event, the total exceeds 100%: that difference is the operator's margin, and it is why betting carries an expected cost.
| Decimal odds | Approximate implied probability | Return per 1,000 staked |
| 1.50 | 66.7% | 1,500 |
| 2.00 | 50.0% | 2,000 |
| 3.00 | 33.3% | 3,000 |
| 5.00 | 20.0% | 5,000 |
These values are mathematical examples used to explain the concept. They are not real odds from any operator and suggest nothing about results.
The most common bet types
- Match result (1X2): home win, draw or away win.
- Handicap: a head start or deficit in goals, points or games is applied to one side.
- Over/under: a bet on whether a total goes above or below a set threshold.
- Accumulator: several selections on one slip; every one must win, which is why the risk rises along with the odds.
- In-play: bets placed during the event, with odds moving as the match develops.
- Player markets: individual statistics, depending on what the operator offers.
The sports followed most closely in Argentina
Football
The sport with the widest range of markets: result, goals, corners, cards, player performance. A broad catalogue does not make outcomes easier to predict; it simply creates more ways to lose the stake.
Basketball
High-scoring games where handicaps and totals attract much of the activity. Odds move quickly during play.
Tennis
With no draw, the market structure is simpler: match winner, set or game handicaps, totals. Injuries and retirements are governed by specific rules that are worth reading in the operator's terms.
Motorsport
Winner, podium and driver-versus-driver markets. Mechanical retirement is a factor entirely unrelated to sporting form.
Other sports
Volleyball, rugby, hockey, combat sports and eSports appear depending on the calendar and on each operator's offer.
Betting responsibly
Sports betting is neither an income stream nor an investment. The result of an event is uncertain by definition, and no amount of prior information makes it certain.
- Set an entertainment budget and stay within it.
- Never bet with borrowed money or with money meant for essentials.
- Never try to win back losses by increasing your stakes.
- Set time limits and take real breaks.
- If betting stops being entertainment, ask for help. Start with our responsible gambling guide.
